Wondering about how to work with an image I didn't have a picture of, and wanting to teach myself some casting and shaping skills, I started this work.
For this piece, I created and cast a copy of a copy of my mother's older cast version of her teeth in epoxy. I inserted one of the three wisdom-teeth I got pulled last year, thus a one of a kind now relates to the copy. Fascinated by how a tooth contains and protects valuable information like DNA even years and years after passing away, mine is now saved. Staged on top of my mother's, wondering about nature-nurture...
