I created this project in search of a work-method that could stimulate others and myself to take the time to try something else. Questions about research, experiment, documentation and presentation are key. In this model the individual artist is the focal point.  No matter who or where they are (physically or subject-matter wise).

Since the first edition I invited a couple of artists and asked them when they accept the invitation, to forward it to another artist. In this invitation I ask them to take a step back and review their usual ways. To look differently at their environment, their stage, methods or materials.

The participants choose which aspect of their work is interesting for them personally to subject to this experiment, within the time-frame of 168 Hours. It should be enough to either set a multiple day experiment - will the thing you've seen or put there, still be there the next day ? -, yet the execution also can be finished within one evening. It's about risk, time, research, but also about joy - there will be no failure!

From whatever they do in these 168 Hours, I ask them to document their traces the way they see fit. Online they share their movements during the week, with all other participants as well as the online public. This creates solidarity through distance. Afterwards, I upload their summary/documentation/approach for all who missed out or like to see it again!
